Data Architecture
- Metadata is “data that provides information about other data.” In short, it’s data about data.
- Schema is one type of metadata, which formally defines the name, type, attributes, constraints, relationship, structure, etc. of data.
- The data dictionary is, in essence, a metadata repository that standardizes the definition of a data element and enables a common interpretation of data elements.
