Data Architecture

Metadata is “data that provides information about other data.” In short, it’s data about data.
Schema is one type of metadata, which formally defines the name, type, attributes, constraints, relationship, structure, etc. of data.
The data dictionary is, in essence, a metadata repository that standardizes the definition of a data element and enables a common interpretation of data elements.
